We helped Telia (a big Swedish telephone company) with the launch of their new app for entrepreneurs. By creating an animated film that briefly tells the whole concept. The test is based on a survey conducted by Telia based on responses from 1000 companies, spread across Sweden. Our 3D animated film, which launches the test, is built around the illustrations that were made for the actual test.
The design of the environments in 3d is inspired by the Bauhaus movement’s architecture, geometric shapes and stripped-down style with no place for unnecessary adornments. Then we continued working along the lines of that imagery to create this dreamlike model city among the clouds where the film takes place.
In the preparation of the animation, we worked closely with the creatives at the advertising agency and, among other things, we gathered some ideas and inspiration from the 1920s and 1930s city-romanticizing “City symphonies” films such as “Berlin: Die Sinfonie der Großstadt”, Eng: Symphony of a Great City (Dir. Walter Ruttman, 1927) and “Chelovek s kino-apparatom” Eng: The Man with a Movie Camera (Dir. Dziga Vertov, 1929). We felt that there was a close connection between those films and their fascination with the future – and the high paced technological development in our own time. A theme that we infused into our film working with symbolic images for technology, the rhythm of the animation and the music in close harmony with the pictures. Hope you like!
